The Casino at Greenwynd
Gaming and entertainment on the ground floor of the resort — eight live tables, electronic gaming and a high-limit salon, open to guests and visitors aged 20 and over.
Overview
A gaming lounge, not a gaming floor
The casino at Greenwynd occupies a single room off the main lobby, behind its own doors. It holds about ninety people comfortably and it is deliberately not much bigger than that.
Queenstown does not need another cavernous gaming hall, and our guests did not ask for one. What they did ask for was somewhere to spend an evening after dinner that felt like part of the hotel — the same lighting, the same staff, the same quiet — with real tables and real dealers rather than a row of machines under a low ceiling.
So the room is panelled in dark oak, the ceiling is high, and the noise stays inside it. Nothing carries into the lobby, the restaurant or the guest floors. If you never want to see it during your stay, you never will.
Everything here is on-site. Greenwynd does not operate, licence or promote any form of online gambling, and there is no app, no account and no way to play from your room.
The gaming floor
What you will find inside
Our casino games run across eight live tables, a bank of electronic gaming machines and a six-seat salon. Minimum and maximum stakes are displayed at every table and change between the afternoon and evening sessions.
Table games
Our dealers run blackjack, roulette and baccarat across six tables from midday. Blackjack is dealt from an eight-deck shoe; roulette is single-zero on both wheels.

Poker
A three-table poker corner at the far end of the room. Cash games run Thursday to Sunday from 19:00, and we host a small Texas hold'em tournament on the first Saturday of the month — twelve seats, a NZ$120 buy-in and a single rebuy.

Electronic gaming & slots
Twenty-four slot machines and electronic gaming terminals along the eastern wall — video slots, a few classic reel machines, and electronic roulette terminals for guests who would rather not sit at a table. Machines display their return-to-player information on the cabinet, as required.

Live gaming & the high-limit salon
A separate six-seat salon behind the poker corner, with its own dealer and its own entrance. Higher table limits, a private bar and table service from Silverbeech. It can be reserved for an evening by guests staying in a suite; otherwise it opens on Friday and Saturday from 20:00.

Roulette
Two single-zero wheels. Our dealers are happy to explain the table before you sit down — most people ask, and nobody minds.
Chips & cash handling
Chips are bought at the table or the cage in cash or by eftpos. We do not extend credit for gaming, and we never advance funds against a room account.

Hours extend during the winter season and over public holidays. The lounge closes on Christmas Day, Good Friday and Anzac Day morning.
Entry
Age and identification
Entry is restricted to people aged 20 years and over. This is a legal requirement in New Zealand under the Gambling Act 2003 and we apply it without exception.
Valid photo ID is checked at the door — a New Zealand driver licence, a Kiwi Access card or a passport. If you look under 25, expect to be asked. Guests staying at the hotel are asked for ID too.
Entry is free and there is no membership. Hotel guests and outside visitors are treated the same at the door.
In the room
Dress code & conduct
Smart casual from 18:00 — no beachwear, no ski boots, no sports singlets. Before 18:00 we are relaxed about it, within reason.
Photography and filming are not permitted inside the lounge, out of respect for other guests. Phones on silent at the tables, please.
Our staff may decline entry or ask someone to leave, and they do not have to give a reason. It rarely happens and it is never personal.
Host responsibility
Gaming should stay entertainment
Greenwynd operates under the host responsibility requirements of the Gambling Act 2003. Our policy is displayed at the entrance to the lounge, our hosts are trained to recognise when someone is no longer enjoying themselves, and clocks and natural light are kept visible in the room on purpose.
We do not extend credit for gaming, we do not serve alcohol to anyone who is intoxicated, and we will arrange a voluntary self-exclusion at any time — in confidence, with no argument and no waiting period.
