By air

From Queenstown Airport

Queenstown Airport (ZQN) is 8 km east — about fifteen minutes by road via Frankton Road and the town centre, longer at five o'clock in July.

Our shared shuttle meets scheduled arrivals for NZ$28 per guest; a private transfer in the house car is NZ$95 for up to three. Book at least six hours ahead through reservations, and send us your flight number so we can watch it.

By road

Driving here

From the town centre, follow Lake Esplanade west along the waterfront; it becomes Fernhill Road as it climbs. We are on the right, 1.4 km past the roundabout.

From Cromwell and the Gibbston Valley, take SH6 through the Kawarau Gorge and continue past Frankton — roughly one hour. From Wānaka via the Crown Range, about ninety minutes; check conditions in winter, the road takes snow.

On-site parking is NZ$25 per night, with two EV chargers. Chains are available at reception in season.

On foot

Walking into town

The lakefront path takes you into the Queenstown CBD in about twelve minutes, flat the whole way and lit until midnight. Coming back is the same walk with a slight climb at the end.

Our shuttle runs into town on the hour from 08:00 to 23:00 and is free for house guests. After 23:00 the front desk will call you a taxi.

Concierge

What the desk can arrange

Our concierge team has worked in this valley a long time and books the operators they would send family to, not the ones paying the highest commission.

  • On the water — Shotover jet boats, scenic cruises on Lake Wakatipu, the TSS Earnslaw to Walter Peak, kayaking off Sunshine Bay.
  • In the air and off the bridge — the Skyline gondola and luge, tandem paragliding from Bob's Peak, bungee at the Kawarau Bridge, scenic flights over Milford.
  • On the mountain — lift passes and rentals for Coronet Peak, The Remarkables and Cardrona; guided walks on the Ben Lomond and Queenstown Hill tracks; mountain bike hire for the Queenstown Trail.
  • Wine and food — driver-guided cellar door days through Gibbston and Bannockburn, and a table almost anywhere in town if you would rather eat out.
  • Further afield — the Milford Sound day trip by coach and light aircraft, Glenorchy and the head of the lake, Arrowtown, and the Cardrona Valley.
  • Practicalities — car hire, chains, laundry, doctors, pharmacies, and getting something posted home.

Email [email protected] before you arrive, or knock on the desk when you get here. In July and January, before you arrive is better.
